hello, kia ora, wilkommen. I’m Rachel. photographer / primary school teacher / mum to two little ones / lover of being outside, swimming in the sea, visiting new places and photographing life’s moments – big and small.

i am a professional photographer with a Bachelor of Design + Visual Arts majoring in Photography. during my time studying, I also spent a semester abroad learning the art of portraiture at a university of arts in Germany. I am really passionate about what I do – being outdoors, in beautiful light, with camera in hand, creating memories you’ll be able to cherish for years to come.

time moves fast, and capturing moments as they unfold helps me to remember and recall the littlest of details, i’m finding this especially after becoming a mum, now to two little ones.

I know it can be really overwhelming trying to decide on someone to take photos of you.

I’ve tried to make my offerings very simple, and super straightforward. At the end of the day, you’ll never regret creating memories with you + your loved ones, documenting the stage you are in.

I trust the images we create together will be cherished for many years longer than the one in which they’re taken, and I hope to see you soon.

a little glimpse at what your in home newborn session gallery might look a little bit like (or 60 mins in just 10 seconds) - we find the good light, get baby fed and comfy, and capture all the squishy details as you breathe them in close 💖

at five weeks old, she was alert and awake to the world, ready to take it all in at her first photo shoot 😅 no mind though, it’s all part of it, and she eventually did doze off for us 💖

when your only child becomes a big sister (and makes excellent work of it too) 💖

it’s a big change for a toddler, when a new sibling enters their world, which is why i love newborn shoots that involve them - quiet peeps over at the strange new thing in mum’s arms, counting ten tiny toes together, and the classic not so quiet celebrations of toddlerhood 😅 I loved my time with these guys, cozy inside on a rainy winter’s day, as they adjusted to life with their new little one 💖
